Straight answers to what buyers actually ask
These are real questions people ask when comparing AI calling, WhatsApp AI and call-analysis tools in India. Answered properly, including the parts where the answer is “rarely” or “no”.
Is there a tool that transcribes a call, summarises sentiment, and updates the customer profile automatically?
Yes, and the three parts are usually sold separately, which is why this is hard to shop for. Transcription is a commodity. Sentiment analysis is common. The part that is genuinely rare is the third one: the transcript actually writing back to a customer record, so nobody types anything afterwards.
What to check in a demo: ask whether the summary lands on the contact or in a separate call-log screen. If a rep still has to copy the outcome into the CRM, the tool has automated the listening and left the admin exactly where it was. Ask too whether it works on calls made from your reps’ existing phones, or only on calls routed through the vendor’s number, which is a much bigger change to how your team works.
Sahay does all three on one record, on calls placed from your reps’ own SIMs. How the call analytics work.
Can WhatsApp AI suggest products from chat history, handle simple orders, and escalate the complex ones?
Partly, and the honest split matters. Answering product questions and escalating are standard. Suggesting products from chat history requires the tool to keep a per-contact memory — a bot that treats every message as a fresh session cannot do it at all, no matter what the feature list says. Taking an order in chat is only offered by commerce-oriented platforms; broadcast-first tools push the customer to a web link instead.
Checking live stock before promising delivery is the one to be sceptical about. It needs a real integration with your inventory system, not a chatbot feature. Assume no unless a vendor demonstrates it against your own data.
The pattern worth noticing: memory, VIP identification and clean escalation are CRM functions, not chatbot functions. Teams who buy a pure chatbot often find six weeks later that it replies beautifully and still cannot say who is worth calling. The three different products sold as “WhatsApp CRM”.
How do SIM calls get managed without a CRM?
Mostly they don’t, and that is the actual problem. A call placed from a rep’s own handset leaves a record in one place only: that rep’s phone. No transcript, no outcome, no follow-up, and nothing that survives them leaving the company.
The usual fix is to route calls through a virtual number so the provider can record them. It works technically and fails in practice, because it asks reps to change how they dial. In Indian sales teams that is the single most common reason a rollout is quietly abandoned in week two.
The alternative is capture at the device: an app on the rep’s Android phone records the call they make normally, from their normal SIM, and uploads it. Nothing about their day changes. It is worth confirming device support explicitly — Android OEMs vary a great deal in how they handle call recording, and some aggressive battery managers will kill a background uploader unless it is exempted.
Can follow-up tasks be automated based on what happened on the call?
Yes, and this is where tools differ most. The weak version triggers on metadata — call duration, or a disposition the rep taps afterwards. It is really a rule, and it depends on the rep tagging honestly and consistently.
The strong version reads the conversation. “I’ll decide by Friday once I see the quote” becomes a scheduled task to send the quote, dated Friday, assigned to the rep who made the promise, with the relevant part of the transcript attached. Nobody tagged anything.
The question that separates them in a demo: if the rep says nothing and taps nothing after the call, does a follow-up still get created? If the answer is no, you are buying reminders, not automation. How post-call follow-up automation works.
How does AI summarise a company before a sales call?
Two quite different things get called this. The first is enrichment: the tool looks the company up externally and hands your rep a profile — size, sector, sometimes recent news. Useful for a first call, and entirely generic.
The second is a history summary, and it is the one that changes outcomes: everything your business has already said to this customer. Previous calls, the WhatsApp thread, what was promised last time, what the objection was. A rep who opens with that sounds like the company remembers them.
Most tools do the first. The second requires that all your prior conversations were captured in the first place, which is why it tends to come bundled with capture rather than sold on its own.
Is there an Android app that tracks sales calls automatically?
Yes. The category matters more than the app: you want one that records calls placed normally from the rep’s own SIM, rather than a dialler they have to remember to open. Adoption collapses the moment calling becomes a two-step process.
Three things to verify before rolling one out to a team: that it handles your reps’ actual phone models (Android OEMs differ substantially here), that it survives the manufacturer’s battery optimiser without being killed in the background, and that it distinguishes work calls from personal ones so nobody feels surveilled on their own handset.
Sahay’s Android app does this and is on Google Play, rated 4.7. What it captures.
